Why does the world need more female leadership?
Surely, the impact of COVID-19 on the workplace will be a topic of discussion and analysis for many years to come. Among all challenges of the pandemic, there is at least a positive emerging pattern that we should consider: the success of female leaders in dealing with crisis.
The current global emergency has provided an opportunity to re-evaluate gendered styles of leadership and management. Across the globe, female leaders such as Jacinda Arden and Angela Merkel have shown unequaled leadership during the pandemic and their results have been markedly more successful than their male counterparts. It is now clear that women are particularly strong leaders in times of crisis - not only because of their empathy and multitasking capability, also because of their ability to take in a lot of inputs and pragmatism.
Thankfully, over the last decade, the number of women in senior leadership positions in business and politics has grown, and diversity in leadership is always good for business.
More and more in businesses and politics, emotional intelligence is key as much as determination and personality and I have always believed that us, women excel at those even though sometimes we don’t embrace it fully as we overly judge ourselves.
Confidence is a trait which is a necessity for female leaders to flourish and part of a set of behaviours central to executive success.
We have seen most women in politics smarten up and rethink their image with the help of an expert as they’ve grown and taken serious the escalation to leadership.
There is a reason why their outfits are not left to chance. Make-up, accessories, and clothes’ colours are strictly related to the marketing and communication campaigns that they represent. The so called Power Dressing is a tool not only to project a certain presence, convey a specific non verbal message but most importantly, to sharpen up our inner confidence and our minds.
These days power dressing to me means: being able to embrace a look that reflects both the need to feel well put together with being at ease between important zoom meetings and walks in the park.
By adopting a philosophy of constant commitment and making an effort also towards your style with maximum spirit, it’s an act of leadership which people respond positively to.
We all assisted the US election and a huge victory for the female world was the winning of Kamala Harris as first female vice president. During the campaign length, her style was relatable.
She wore simple but well cut suits often following the party’s colour. Sometimes a touch too conservative but it was all warmed up by her smile.
A blazer matched with the pantsuit and a touch of elegance with comfortable heels or the beloved pair Converse All Star.
As a company run by women, we understand the challenges, the vulnerabilities, the wishes and needs of other women which truthfully, are the same no matter the difference in age or background.
The mission is to help more and more women to achieve their personal and professional goals by working on fine tuning your style to enhance your inner confidence and that sense of pride towards yourself.
